World Federation of Rose Societies
The World Federation of Rose Societies hosts the World Rose Convention once every three years. This international conference about roses provides an opportunity for enthusiasts from around the world to deepen their interactions. The convention includes a variety of activities, such as lectures on roses, garden tours, determination of the Award of Garden Excellence recipients, and judging and selection for the Rose Hall of Fame.
Swedish Rose Society
The Swedish Rose Society was established in 1987 and joined the Nordic Rose Society (founded 1973). An union with members from the 5 Nordic countries which celebrated 50th Anniversary in Kalmar, Sweden 2023. The Swedish Rose Society is an active member of the WFRS which now is realized in the upcoming WFRS Regional Convention & Heritage Roses Conference in 2024.
The Green Guide
The Green Guide is a Swedish tour operator and organizer of tailor-made garden tours and events. Gardens in England, Italy, Denmark and Sweden are in their area of expertise. They combine their tours with meetings with botanical experts, head gardeners and landscape architects.
Christina Högardh-Ihr is one of the founders of The Green Guide. She is a well-known author in Sweden of garden books and articles. She is also known as a rose expert and conduct lectures and popular rose classes. Christina has traveled a lot among gardens and plantations in Scandinavia, England, France and Italy for research. She is passionate about plants, gardening and nature and also loves to convey knowledge and inspiration about this. A great interest in food goes hand in hand with organizing food experiences for her customers on the tours.
Environmental issues, cultivation and preservation of our green cultural landscape are important for The Green Guide. Climate issues and the pandemic have made these topics more actual than ever and it matters a great deal that our partners at the destinations, food producers, hotels and other actors who participate in our programs share these values.
